Adults

General Information

We all pass through challenging periods in our lives, and sometimes even the most loving and supportive friends or family cannot give us everything we need to move forward. If you are struggling with difficult emotions or behaviours, or if something in your life does not feel right and you are finding it hard to get back on track, seeking professional support can be a helpful step.

I understand that deciding to see a psychologist can feel like a big step. I therefore offer a non-judgmental, confidential, and professional space where you can openly discuss your concerns.

I provide:
Individual Therapy for Adults
Adult Assessment (Evaluation / Testing)
Couples Therapy

What to expect

During the first meeting (Adult Initial Consultation), the concerns for which you are seeking psychological support are explored and assessed. By the end of this initial consultation, a preliminary diagnosis is discussed and treatment recommendations are outlined.

The frequency of therapy sessions and the overall duration of treatment vary depending on the nature of the difficulties, the diagnosis, and your individual needs and circumstances. Sessions typically last 45 minutes and are scheduled from once per week to once every three weeks. More frequent sessions may be arranged during periods of increased distress or crisis.

My choice of therapeutic methods is informed by current research and clinical best practice. I use an integrative approach to therapy, tailoring treatment to the presenting needs, diagnosis, and temperament of each individual or couple.

Interventions may draw on techniques from the following approaches:

  • Cognitive-behvioural therapy
  • Schema therapy

  • Psychodynamic/psychoanalytic therapy
  • Attachment-based approaches
  • Other evidence-informed therapeutic models

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Intellectual Disabilities
  • Specific Learning Difficulties (e.g. dyslexia, dyspraxia)
  • Personality Disorders
  • Other common adult concerns

Results

Following the assessment, a feedback session is scheduled to review the results, discuss recommendations, and address any questions you may have. A comprehensive written report is provided either during this follow-up session or within one week. The report summarises the assessment findings and includes practical recommendations to support coordinated care with other professionals involved in your treatment.
